2022 Pruning Workshops

Precision Pruning Workshops for Honeycrisp and other Important Apple Cultivars in WNY. Most meetings will only be provided in one language. Please note the language the demonstration will be provided in when choosing which meeting to attend. 

For additional pruning guidance you can refer to the recently posted CCE LOF YouTube video titled 'Pruning Guide for Precision Crop Load Management'. A new video describing precision pruning, why, how and when to accomplish it. This video is available with captions in English and Spanish and is very useful for pruning crews.

The Wayne County bilingual pruning workshop will be hosted by orchard managers Justin Dimercy from Cherry Lawn Fruit Farms and Joaquín Hernández Nava from Johnson Fruit Farm. Mario Miranda Sazo will cover pruning concepts and how to adjust pruning severity of 'Honeycrisp' trees in 2022 with both orchard managers in a bilingual format and with their respective Jamaican and Spanish pruning crews. All pruning crews are invited to attend this unique educational activity in Wayne.

Second Spanish Language Pruning Workshop



This Orleans County pruning workshop will be hosted by Sergio and Silvia Rosario of Rosario Brothers on Wednesday April 13 (4-5:30pm). Mario Miranda Sazo will cover the pruning concepts and how to adjust pruning severity of 'Honeycrisp' trees in 2022 in the Spanish language with the Rosarios and Spanish orchard workers of the area.

New Weed Management Technology Survey

Want to move away from herbicide reliance? Are you using novel technologies to manage weeds? We want to know about it to inform our weed science research.
