We are excited to announce the 3rd annual Western New York Fruit Grower Tour, the premier fruit tour of the northeast brought to you by Cornell Cooperative Extension's Lake Ontario Fruit Program and Lake Ontario Ag Consulting, LLC! Located in Wayne County, this orchard field day will highlight new and existing products, chemistries, practices, technologies & equipment that shape the orchard industry today. The Western NY Fruit Grower Tour will again combine two past orchard tour events, the LOF Summer Fruit Tour and the Wayne County Fruit Grower Tour, giving industry members the opportunity to conveniently showcase their product offerings to ONE unified group at ONE time and place!

Registration/check-in will be 8:30-9 AM, with the educational program at stop 1running from ~ 9-10AM. Stop 2: ~10-11:45AM. Lunch/Sponsor stop ~Noon-1:30 PM. Stop 3 ~1:45-4:15 PM. 4:15 PM ADJOURN & SAFE TRAVELS.

Stops/topics:

Stop 1. Cherry Lawn Farms. 8130 Glover Rd, Sodus, NY. Registration-check-in, receive name tag. Welcome, coordinated by Craig Kahlke, CCE-LOF. Host Ted Furber. Nutrient Management Stop. In this stop, Dr. Lailiang Cheng (Cornell U.) Mario, and Ted will present a summary of the
current suggested nutrient management strategies for 'Honeycrisp' with the intent of providing in one stop a list of grower
recommendations for this variety. The new recommendations are based on 10-15+ years of research trials.

Stop 2. Donald DeMaree Fruit Farms, 7677 East Townline Rd, Williamson, NY. host Kristen DeMarree. Coordinated by Mario Miranda Sazo, CCE-LOF.
Digital Agriculture Stop In this stop, Dr. Terence Robinson (Cornell U.) Mario, and Kristen will give an update about the 2025
on-farm research done with the use of vision systems and variable rate sprayers. A comparison of the use of the Fruit
Growth Rate Model versus the Fruit Size Distribution Model will be discussed.

This training is only for those with experience and does not qualify for the 30-hour official DEC training - you are exempt from the 30 hour training (and eligible for this coaching session) if you have pesticide application experience, either through working on your own farm or through employment on another farm.

2026 Orleans County - DEC Certified Pesticide Applicator License Exam

A Certification Exam will be administered on March 16th by the DEC to Qualified Applicants. Plan to arrive by 8:30am. The fee for the exam is $100: bring a check payable to NYSDEC the day of the exam.  You must register with DEC to take the exam. NYCAMH Fit Testing Requirements

Considering NYCAMH for your respirator fit testing?

Here are some key facts and helpful tips about medical clearance:

Medical Clearance ? Fit Testing (They are not the same!)

Before you can wear a respirator or be fit tested, OSHA requires a medical evaluation under the Respiratory Protection Standard (29 CFR 1910.134). This evaluation must be conducted by a licensed healthcare provider to determine if you are physically able to use a respirator safely.
