LOF Summer Fruit Tour 2018
Register now for this free annual tour featuring cutting edge farms. Annual tour featuring the following cutting edge farms: Smith Brothers, VanDeWalle Fruit Farm, and Cherry Lawn Farms. Attendees will see tree decline on NY-1, a successful On-farm nursery, large new tall spindle plantings of high-value varieties, the economics of new high density plantings, hail-netting, soil health, and more!

Online Registration is Now Open for NextGen Young Fruit Grower Study Tour in PA, August 2-4!


The 3rd annual NextGen Young Fruit Farmer Study Tour will be held in the Adams County region of Pennsylvania August 2nd-4th.

The Young Growers Alliance (YGA) of Pennsylvania, the LOF team, the Future Fruit Growers of Lake Ontario, along with Matt Wells (New York Apple Sales), have organized an excellent itinerary.

The study tour is focused on helping next generation growers develop the knowledge and skills needed to take their family farms into the future.

Come visit the orchards of the first NY growers of European and American Hard Cider varieties.
Tour will include 2 farms and 1 nursery in Wayne County, ending (optional) with a tasting at Mullers Cider House, Rochester. The tour & lunch are $5 with registration has been extended to Aug 2nd.

CCE Broome County, in partnership with the CCE Cornell Vegetable Program and the Cornell Baskets to Pallets program, is offering a hands-on, on-farm experience designed to prepare farms in NY, both beginning and experienced, to enter new markets.

New Weed Management Technology Survey

Want to move away from herbicide reliance? Are you using novel technologies to manage weeds? We want to know about it to inform our weed science research. A team of weed scientists from University of California Davis, Oregon State University, and Cornell University are asking berry, tree fruit, tree nut, and vine crop growers to take 5 to 10 minutes and answer this short and anonymous survey.
