Keith Culver, AgroFresh Commercial Director North America: New innovations from AgroFresh.  
Dr. Greg Clarke, Valent USA Senior Field, Northeast Market Development Specialist: ReTain for managing harvest and improving fruit quality; Best practices for ReTain use; New application strategies for Honeycrisp, Gala and McIntosh.  
Dr. Christopher Watkins: PGR use on storage quality and disorder development.

In this webinar, Dr. Terence Robinson, Dr. Lailiang Cheng, CCE-LOF's Mario Miranda Sazo, and Lake Ontario Fruit Inc.'s Scott Henning will present a summary of the peel sap analysis for bitter pit prediction. Dr. Chris Watkins will follow with instructions on how to use the passive prediction model. CCE-LOF's Craig Kahlke will talk about arrangements for fruit storage for the passive model in commercial storages, along with help in evaluating the fruit. The panel will discuss recommendations/comparison between the 2 models to help guide storage regime and marketing plans

Beginning on Tuesday, August 25th at 4:00 PM EST, Cornell CALS and CCE will host office hours for farmers  and packers to answer any questions they might have about managing and responding to protect the farm workforce during COVID-19.  Participants will be able to log in from a computer or call in from a phone to ask questions or just to listen. A panel of experts will be available to answer questions immediately, questions that the experts cannot answer right away will be recorded, studied and answered later. The next 6 weeks are a critical time for the farm workforce as seasonal harvest ramps up, so the office hours will repeat every Tuesday at 4:00 PM EST through the end of September. Look for log in information and phone numbers in coming news releases and watch this website: www.agworkforce.cals.cornell.edu.

2nd Annual WNY Fruit Grower Tour

We are excited to announce the second annual Western New York Fruit Grower Tour, the premier fruit tour of the northeast brought to you by Cornell Cooperative Extension's Lake Ontario Fruit Program and Lake Ontario Ag Consulting, LLC!  Located in Orleans County, this orchard field day will highlight new and existing products, chemistries, practices, technologies & equipment that shape the orchard industry today. The Western NY Fruit Grower Tour will again combine two past orchard tour events, the LOF Summer Fruit Tour and the Wayne County Fruit Grower Tour, giving industry members the opportunity to conveniently showcase their product offerings to ONE unified group at ONE time and place!

New Weed Management Technology Survey

Want to move away from herbicide reliance? Are you using novel technologies to manage weeds? We want to know about it to inform our weed science research. A team of weed scientists from University of California Davis, Oregon State University, and Cornell University are asking berry, tree fruit, tree nut, and vine crop growers to take 5 to 10 minutes and answer this short and anonymous survey.
