NEWA weather stations moving to a new dashboard!
NEWA weather stations purchased through Rainwise (now owned by KestrelMet) are moving to a new dashboard!
Anyone with a weather station that was purchased through Rainwise will likely have received an email or message from the company to let them know that 'Rainwise.net Sunsets January 1, 2026'.
This will not affect your ability to connect your weather station to the NEWA network.
The website Rainwise.net will shut down on January 1, 2026, so you will simply need to transition to the Ambient Weather Network (AWN) website in order to continue to access your weather data.
What to Do
- Download the AWN app on your smartphone, or visit ambientweather.net.
- In the upper right corner, click on "Get Started"
- Click on the blue "Login" button in the middle of the screen
- Enter the same email address you used to access Rainwise.net, and under Password enter "Forgot Password."
- You will be directed to create a new password, and will then be able to access your data via the ambientweather.net website.
- Your weather data will continue to be sent to NEWA, and you will be able to continue to view all the same models and information via https://newa.cornell.edu/.
