Important:
- Medical clearance is not required annually.
- A medical provider determines when re-evaluation is needed for continued respirator use.
NYCAMH Fit Testing Options
1. Use Your Preferred Medical Provider
- We'll give you a Statement of Medical Clearance for your provider to sign and YOU
- return to us.
- Make sure they complete this section:
- "Please ensure the patient renews medical clearance within ___ year(s) or when there is a change in work or health conditions."
- If left blank, we default to one year, and you'll need clearance again next year!
- ??... Tip: Confirm they've filled in the date before leaving their office!
2. Use 3M Online Medical Clearance
- Convenient and popular, over 90% of farmers choose this option.
- Cost: $29 at respexam.com
- Takes about 20 minutes to complete.
- When registering, select a 2 or 3 year clearance. It is the same price as one!
- If you and your staff are under 26 years of age, chose ANSI and you will like get a 5 year
- expiration!

This training is only for those with experience and does not qualify for the 30-hour official DEC training - you are exempt from the 30 hour training (and eligible for this coaching session) if you have pesticide application experience, either through working on your own farm or through employment on another farm.
