  • What are the risks that you should be concerned about? 

This winter Cornell Cooperative Extension Farm Business Management Specialists are offering 5 webinars on Tuesdays at lunch to help you understand different types of insurance policies and their typical provisions.  Join us for one or for all five.  Your registration on any date will give you a link to all five webinars.


Schedule:

  1. January 13 (12:00-1:30) Insurance and Risk Management 101.  This first webinar will cover many of the general provisions found in insurance policies and describe some of the terms to be aware of when you are considering your options.  Steve Hadcock, Capital District Hort Team and FarmNet
  2. January 20 (12:00-1:30) Liability Insurance. Liability Insurance is coverage for the risk that your business will cause harm to someone.  Are you having people on your farm or selling a food product?  You might need liability insurance. Pre-registration is required. Registration is handled by the UVM Fruit Program; after registering, you will receive a link to the Zoom session hosted by UMass Extension. Be sure to save the confirmation email which contains the links to your webinars. Webinar registration fees support the annual meeting of the Northeast Tree Fruit IPM Working Group which facilitates shared programming and collaborative research and Extension projects among IPM professionals across the region. Extension activities are available to all growers regardless of ability or interest to pay. If you would like a discount code for free registration, please email madeline.baughman@uvm.edu.

NYCAMH Fit Testing Requirements

Considering NYCAMH for your respirator fit testing?

Here are some key facts and helpful tips about medical clearance:

Medical Clearance ? Fit Testing (They are not the same!)

Before you can wear a respirator or be fit tested, OSHA requires a medical evaluation under the Respiratory Protection Standard (29 CFR 1910.134). This evaluation must be conducted by a licensed healthcare provider to determine if you are physically able to use a respirator safely.

Want to move away from herbicide reliance? Are you using novel technologies to manage weeds? We want to know about it to inform our weed science research.
